Advertising Club of Edmonton
Co-Chair: Communications
http://adclubedm.com

We’re passionate about advertising. We see the potential for greatness in every company and every member. As a group, we push each other to be better. Edmonton can compete on a global scale. The success our industry achieves year after year proves that.

We’ve got history. In 1977, a small group of Edmonton advertising professionals wanted to do something different—and they did. Over three decades later, the club they created is one of Canada’s oldest and largest. We’re recognized across the country as an example of what an ad club can and should be. Locally, we’ve earned the respect of our industry and the business community at large.

We believe in creativity. No other industry combines art and commerce like advertising. We celebrate the creative spirit of our members. And there’s a lot to celebrate. Crafting a powerful headline. Getting the perfect shot. Re-imagining the boundaries of media. Designing a masterpiece. It’s what we do day in and day out. It’s engrained in who we are.

RED The Agency
Lead Strategist & Executive Producer - Interactive
http://redtheagency.com

As a member of the RED team, I worked as both lead interactive strategist and managed the development and production process specific to interactive across all projects. I worked closely with strategy, creative, and technical teams to maximize efficiency and quality assurance throughout the interactive production cycle.

In June 2008, I led the acquisition of Hotrocket’s interactive strategy division by RED. The seamless integration of traditional agency services and interactive agency services allowed RED to consistently deliver the type of brand experiences that broke through a very cluttered and fragmented communications environment. RED’s clients include Work Safe Alberta, Capital Health, OK Tire, Edmonton Oilers, Canadian Western Bank, Edmonton Airports, Alberta Motor Association and West Edmonton Mall. Over the past 3 years alone, RED has been recognized among Alberta Venture’s Fastest Growing Companies, along with national recognition in PROFIT and Applied Arts for its creative and business achievements.

Hotrocket Studios Inc.
Principal, President & Executive Producer

Hotrocket is a production company focused on interactive entertainment for kids. Founded in 2001, Hotrocket is a privately owned production company held in partnership between myself and Ken Bautista. Our primary expertise and focus was on architecting cross-platform interactive projects through concept, financing and production - working as freelance producers and directors, co-production partners, or consultants. Our goal was to connect with today’s interactive kids through socially-driven storytelling, gameplay and entertainment that actively engages kids online, on-the-go, in the classroom, the living room and in real world locations.

Alberta Information and Communications Council
Executive Director
http://albertaict.ca/

As the Executive Director of the ICT Council, I supported the Chair and Board by initiating a wide variety of activities and initiatives. Within the ICT Council, I facilitated positive outcomes that aligned with the goals of the ICT Council’s Business Plan and board members. I also helped to prepare budget and forecasts, monitor expenditures and generate accurate financial reports. I also lead the preparation and administration of all contract documents, amendments and extensions to ensure compliance with approved contracting policy, signing authorities’ matrix and established policies and procedures.

Heritage Community Foundation
Senior Project Manager
http://www.edukits.ca/

In 2003, I was hired by the Heritage Community Foundation. During my time with the non-profit organization, my team and I successfully initiated and launched several online interactive products and learning programs. “Edukits” was a series of interactive learning resources that explored topics such as the Aboriginal Youth Identity series, The Famous 5, Women of Aspenland, Alberta Naturally and Alberta’s Petrolium Heritage. In my first six months with the program I helped raise over $1M in production financing through public and private sources.
